Name Jakob RehlingerAbout Graphic Designer, Art Director and award-winning Photographer with seven years experience in the field. A passionate and inventive creator of innovative print design, I am accustomed to performing in deadline-driven environments. A multi-disciplinary background has provided me with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; outstanding collaborative and interpersonal skills in team settings. I am a highly organized worker with a dedication to accuracy in file management and flawless product delivery. :: Design History :: : Maximum Yield Publications (Nanaimo, BC) http://maximumyield.com At Maximum Yield I was in charge of the production and design of seven international editions of the flagship publication, Maximum Yield Indoor Gardening, as well as a trade publication (Maximum Yield’s Industry News) and a traditional gardening magazine (Maximum Yield’s Gardens Unlimited). With nine magazines in total, clean file-management and the ability to meet deadlines were essential skills. In addition to preparing press-ready files for the magazines, I also produced ads for clients, a company calendar, promotional materials for trade-shows and trade-show programmes. : The Navigator Newspaper (Nanaimo, BC) As Art Director for the Navigator I was responsible for the overall look and design of the newspaper as well as the actual production and press-ready file preparation. I was also responsible for commissioning artwork and photography when needed, file management and the creation of ads for clients without press-ready artwork. I had a staff of two graphic design assistants. : Freelance Graphic Designer // Ampersand Creative Services Since 2002 I have worked on a number of exciting projects with a range of clients. From small businesses (The Thirsty Camel Cafe) to community organizations (The Nanaimo Arts Council), I worked closely with them to find creative, practical solutions to their design needs. : Oceanside Photo Ltd. (Parksville, BC) At Oceanside Photo I was responsible for the design and production of student cards for over fifty junior- and senior-high schools. I also designed promotional brochures and order forms as well as specialty products such as collaged portraits and digital frames for team photos. Servicing so many students and schools made Oceanside a fast-paced, deadline-intensive environment that required a high-level of accuracy in file-management. :: Skills and Training :: :: Education :: |
